Historic Savage Mill Manor Wedding | Savage, MD | Kristina and Tyler (and Chase)

Kristina and Tyler had an incredible wedding day at Historic Savage Mill Manor in Savage, MD. This adventurous and outdoorsy couple wanted a venue with lots of natural beauty and they picked the perfect place. They planned an outdoor ceremony on the patio completely surrounded by trees! It was such a nice spring day and although there were some threatening rain clouds, they had plenty of sun for their ceremony. And the few light sprinkles that came through later were easily remedied with an umbrella and the manor house’s giant covered porch.

I always love it when dogs are included in weddings, and their pup Chase was a huge part of their day! As part of my pre-wedding questionnaire I ask couples if there are any special things that they want to make sure I photograph - Kristina wrote “lots of photos of Chase” 😂 Heck yes, my kind of wedding!

Kristina and the bridesmaids all got ready in the bridal suite of the manor house. There was tons of space and lots of natural light which is exactly what a photographer loves to see!

Tyler and the groomsmen had a really nice area to get ready in too - I loved the exposed brick!

I really think this dog thought the day was all about him haha. He just plopped himself down in the middle of the aisle and loved being the center of attention.

Kristina’s last name is Lilac, so they incorporated lilacs into their ceremony (and had all different shades of purple for their wedding party attire and décor).

Those “just married” smiles!

These bouquets were all so gorgeous!

And I’m so in love with the different shades of purple for the bridesmaid dresses.

And now for the most adorable dog photos. Chase looked so handsome with his little suit and tie! (You can also find more Chase cuteness with Kristina and Tyler’s Shenandoah engagement session.)

And we even found some purple flowers in the front of the venue!

After photos we moved indoors for their brunch reception, that included waffle cakes!

I sincerely hope Kristina and Tyler are trendsetters and that more people incorporate their dogs into their first dance because it was the cutest thing ever.

The humans were all pretty good dancers too!

Kristina and Tyler made sure that all of our dogs at home didn’t get left out of the celebration - for favors they had a biscuit bar with Milk-Bones and other treats to bring home! This was definitely Rui’s favorite wedding I’ve ever photographed 😂
