Burgundy and Champagne Wine Lovers Wedding at Mountain Run Winery | Culpeper, VA
Kayti and David bought a farm in Culpeper three years ago, and have since turned it into a beautiful winery and wedding venue! It was obviously an easy decision when choosing where to have their own wedding. Mountain Run Winery has 25 acres of beauty in every direction - vineyards, open fields, giant trees, rustic barns - it's the perfect place to get married! Even on a rainy day like Kayti and David had, it's still a stunning venue with gorgeous views everywhere you look. You can also check out their engagement photos that we did there too!
Kayti and David incorporated so many personal details into their wedding day, and made most of the decor themselves. They also picked the perfect wine-themed color scheme with the burgundy and champagne! The colors were beautiful and absolutely everything matched - the dresses, flowers, programs, napkins - if Kayti feels like starting up a third career path, she's definitely wedding planner material.
Getting married at your own house and preparing the entire venue has got to be stressful, but Kayti and Dave didn't show it at all! It was definitely a team effort with lots of family and friends helping to set everything up for the wedding day.
The girls got dressed in the colorful bridal suite which I love for getting ready photos!
The bouquets were so perfect!
Just a few weeks after the wedding, Kayti and Dave were hosting a giant, live-action medieval battle at the winery called Weekend Warrior. I think Dave secretly wished their wedding was happening that weekend, but he settled for sneaking some medieval gear into the wedding day where he could.
"Let's act like we're in West Wide Story."
The medieval sword made a brief appearance in the ceremony :)
I know they were hoping for sunny weather and to have the ceremony outdoors, but the barn is such a pretty ceremony space too!
Kayti and David's neighbor officiated, and he did such a great job. This shot is him showing off his credentials - he really did get approved by the court to perform weddings :)
Kayti's sister did a reading from Monty Python that had everyone cracking up!
A giant flock of geese was flying overhead in this one.... the reactions are priceless.
Kayti is so crafty - practically everything you see here is DIY! I love all the thoughtful details they included in their wedding decor.
The toasts were all super sweet, and you could tell how proud everyone is that Dave and Kayti took this crazy winery dream and made it a reality!
The live music from David Gilmore kept guests on the dance floor all night. I loved his rendition of Livin' on a Prayer that had everyone belting out the lyrics along with him!
This wedding had such a great dance floor. The final gallery is going to have more dancing photos than I've ever delivered!
Some of my favorite photos from the whole night are when "Apache (Jump On It)" came on.
Kayti and David - thank you for having me be a part of your special day!
