National Zoo and Mount Pleasant Engagement Photos | Washington, DC | Matt and Andy (and Cersei and Dexter)
Matt and Andy live in the neighborhood right next to DC’s National Zoo, so they love taking walks there. It was also important for them to include their dogs in their engagement pictures, so we split our session between time with the pups and time at the zoo!
They told me that their FAVORITE exhibit at the zoo is Amazonia, so that’s where we planned to meet and start our session. But unfortunately when we arrived, we found out that it had closed early for the day! Luckily, a super helpful zoo employee was willing to unlock the exhibit and give us a few minutes in there for pictures. So glad we were able to capture this special place for them!
Also can we talk about how amazingly perfect these outfits are for zoo engagement photos?! I love the shirts!
Since Andy was rocking the dinosaur shirt, we obviously had to get some pictures by one of the zoo’s dinosaurs!
We stopped back at Andy and Matt’s apartment for an outfit change, to pick up the pups, and to hang out on their rooftop!
Look at those sweet faces! Dexter and Cersei are both rescue pups, and are named after TV characters. Thankfully, they were much better behaved than either of their namesakes haha.
We took the dogs for a walk around their Mount Pleasant neighborhood, and stopped by the Purple Patch, one of their favorite date night spots!
It was such a fun night hanging out with this happy family!
