Kennedy Center Dog Session | Washington, DC | Kate and Kevin (and Peggy)

I spent a lovely summer evening at the Kennedy Center last year with Kate, Kevin, and their sweet Scottish Deerhound, Peggy! Peggy is only a year old, but she is so calm and well behaved! She did great during this session and deserves all the treats :)

Peggy competes in dog shows which explains her picture perfect posing form for photos! And she’s actually got a family connection to competing - her Aunt Claire won the National Dog Show the past two years in a row. Another one of Peggy’s favorite activities is lure coursing, where she runs hundreds of yards chasing a lure on a pulley system. So that’s now been added to my list of things to do with my dog haha!

This was actually my first time shooting at the Kennedy Center, and it’s now one of my favorite places! Between the the columns on the building, the fountains, and the leading lines with the trees along the patio it makes a great photo location.
